The Video Rater technology allows us to expose a specific population to your video or audio content and to acquire much more candid and spontaneous response than could be done with the currently accepted Internet based tools.

Researchers love the Internet because they can easily reach consumers/voters in specific regional or demographic groups more easily than with the older in-person interviews. The data can be retrieved quickly, and tabulated at the speed of light.

The movie and television industries still prefer the "dial" technology, which calls for people to be recruited to attend a showing of a video and to use mechanical devices to give their feedback while viewing the program. They understand the value of the spontaneity of the dial device, and understand that the idea of only asking questions after the viewing, has limited value as people's recall tends to fade rapidly the more they're asked. Until recently, the dial testing had to be done in person, because no one offered an Internet based solution.

®Strategic Opinions uses a proprietary survey module to collect demographic information, then seamlessly engages the participant with the process of rating the video material using our slider. Their response, second by second, is recorded and sent to the central computers where they are combined with those of other respondents.

The client may monitor the survey as it's being fielded, and can generate trace charts via our web site. Clients can "annotate" their media, assigning labels to specific points of interest in their media, and have those annotations automatically included on the charts.

When the study has met its quota goals and closes, ®Strategic Opinions will deliver to the client a video file containing the original presentation, with the selected demographic groups' responses overlaid. With this tool, the client can observe specific groups' reactions to specific points within the presentation.
